Reinforced concrete frame structure is used widely around the world becauseof its economic, adaptability and relatively good seismic performance. In-filledwall is often arranged in the main frame structure due to the use of function. In thepast, in-filled wall is often considered as non-structural components in the structuredesign, only taken as a load or the basic period of in-filled frame structure ismultiplied by the reduction factor of0.6to0.7in consideration of the effect ofin-filled wall. This approach cannot well reflect the mechanism of the collaborativework between the in-filled wall and the main frame structure and the influence ofin-filled wall on the main frame structure. In the previous earthquakes, manyreinforced concrete frames were heavily damaged or even collapsed, most of thereasons are the unreasonable arrangement of the in-filled wall and the ignorance ofthe effect of in-filled frame.Finite element software ABAQUS is used to conducted a simulation analysis,in order to discuss the seismic performance of the in-filled wall in reinforcedconcrete frame structure. Firstly, according to the experimental and the theoreticalanalysis, the effect of in-filled wall on the performance of the frame is analyzed. Then the concrete damage plasticity model is studied, and by comparison with theexperiment, to verify the parameters of concrete damage plasticity model, thusverify the model and selected parameters are appropriate.Three different finite element models are established according to the layout:reinforced frame without in-filled wall; reinforced frame covered with in-filledwall; the frame structures with weakness story at bottom. By model analysis anddynamic time-history analysis of the three models, results of different models canbe obtained. Then the results of three models are compared with each other such ascycle, acceleration, interlayer displacement, drift ratio, stress and damage of theeffect of in-filled wall are gained. Moreover, in-filled wall has negative influenceon the main frame structure, this paper proposes some solutions.
