With the rapid development of integrated circuits and computer technology, as well as embedded applications become increasingly wide range, computer protection devices begin using high-performance computer as technology platforms, and gradually moving towards integration of protection, control, measurement and data communications, as well as intelligent and standardization. So increasingly diversified means of communication appear to protection devices, and gradually near to the most advanced communications technology.This research is to35kV voltage level substation computer protection device communication system. The article introduces the communication of microcomputer protection system based on dual-CPU architecture, make a comparison between the parallel port communication and serial communication in internal communications between the dual-CPU; then designed a variety of means of communication including the RS485, CAN bus, Ethernet and USB for protection devices with external communications. Besides this paper describes the relay communication protocol IEC618705103Statute implementation process to ensure reliability of data transmission and real-time.
