Western countries began to focus on Corporate Social Responsibility long timeago, and have been studying on it for many years. The concept of “ResponsibleCompetitiveness” was first proposed by the European Association for CorporateSocial Responsibility, researches in Corporate Responsible Competitiveness are justat the beginning both at home and abroad. There are still some controversies onResponsible Competitiveness, which is lack of a systematically, logically completesystem in theory. With a fast development in economy and society, China areconfronting several problems, such as overpopulation, pollution, and so on. As aresult, China is paying more and more attention to Corporate Social Responsibility.Traffic jam is a common problem in many big cities in China, with thedevelopment of economy, and the transformation of society. Most cities in China aredoing deep researches and positive explorations, aiming to solve this problem.Xiamen BRT is a project for people’s well-being, and a great achievement to solve theproblem in traffic, according to Xiamen’s situation of geography, population,economy, and so on. And it is greatly supported by Xiamen’s government, politicallyand financially. Under the cooperation of the government and the society, XiamenBRT is trying its best to structure and improve its responsible competitiveness.This paper is a study on the Responsible Competitiveness of BRT, based ontheories of Responsible Competitiveness, Competitive Strategy, and so on, usingseveral relevant analysis tools. At first, we analyze the interior environment and theexternal environment of Xiamen BRT. Then, we analyze the current level ofResponsible Competitiveness of Xiamen BRT. At last, we point out the problems ofResponsible Competitiveness, existing in Xiamen BRT, and give some advisement.We hope that this study would provide a feasible mode of public transport for bigcities in China, and an example for enterprises in China to enhance the lever ofResponsible Competitiveness.
