Inner Mongolia is one of the areas, where the Tantrism highly developed and iswidely distributed. There are many representative temples of Tibetan Buddhism, thatformed their own characteristics after multi-cultural absorption and integration. XilamurenTemple, the Object of this study, is as a sacred place in the grassland famous for its largescale and its six historical Living Buddhas. It is one of "the Four Lore Temples" in the areaof Mongolian and as the only Tibetan temple with freestyle constructions and constructureof wood and stone specially meaningful for the Tibetan Buddhism architectures. Besides, itis also an important complement for the study of the Tibetan Buddhism in Inner Mongoliaand has many historical values.Buddhist architecture is a certain existence, that expresses the Buddhist doctrine andculture, and also a place to help the buddhists practice, to carry forward and disseminatethe faith of Buddhism.Buddhist architecture has both material and mental characteristic, in which the intensemental pursuing makes it different from the other worldly architectures and gives it adeeper implication.Tibetan Buddhism is an influential branch of the Buddhism. In the meanwhile thearchitecture form of Tibetan Buddhism plays an important role of all the architectures forBuddhism. The spiritual pursuit in architectures of Tantrism has already gone beyond thearchitecture form itself. The world outlook, basic doctrines and practice methods of theBuddhism melt ingeniously into geographical and architectural composition andenvironment.This paper work, based on the field work, surveying and drawing of XilamurenTemple and studying and digging of other related literature, researches the XilamurenTemple through historical development, the space constructure of the architecture group,space analysis of each single structure and design of each decoration details and color, inorder to deepen the value of this masterpiece of Qing-Dynasty and to make sense of theunique architecture language of this Temple.
