With the development of industrial, there are more and more quality requests frompeople。When most company used methord of improvement for6-sigma to improveproduct quality, sometimes people find that quality is hard to improve, or the improvementcost is too high. So the design for six-sigma come out. Design for six-sigma looks for a lowcost, high reliability and low debug design. Design for six-sigma methord need hold thevoice of customer well, and design or re-design products according to customer’s request.Micro electrical connector is one of product in Foxconn Group Company, also is maincomponent of electrical equipment. For the quality request from customer is stricter, how toimprove product quality and meet customer’s request are problems at all times.Firstly, this thesis got research for the design for six-sigma. Described the connotationand points, also explained the application workflow of it.Secondly, for the example of JC**micro connector design, this thesis explicated howto use the DMADV model of design for six-sigma in product design process. The design(D) stage and measure (M) stage make the project background clear. Used the KANOanalysis and Klein methord to find out the critical to quality items, and changed the itemsto performance targets which can be designed. Then, the analysis (A) stage and design (D)stage broke down the performance targets, and optimized design to meet customer’srequest.Finally, the verification (V) stage shows that using the design for six sigma theory, notonly let the product meet customer requests, but also saved the time of development andthe cost for design modification, meanwhile introduced that the design for six sigma theoryis a effective method for connector development.
