Because it is difficult for the tunnel pollutant as vehicle exhaust, dust and grease tobe degraded. More and more contaminant will risk the traffic, so the safety of traffic isbased on periodical tunnel cleaning. According to problems, such as high cleaningdifficulty, low cleaning efficiency and secondary pollution to environment in cleaningprocess and so on, which meet in daily cleaning maintenance of present urban roadtunnel and urban railway tunnel, this paper puts forward one cleaning maintenancemethods with environmental protection, efficiency and fast--Tunnel dry ice cleaningtechnology.The model of dry ice cleaning tunnel is developed based on the physicochemicalproperties of carbon dioxide and cleaning properties of dry ice, and a dry ice cleaningmethod is researched. Based on the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, someexperiments about the surface hole, surface temperature and the uniaxial compressivestrength of the concrete are conducted. The surface damage and the compressivestrength of the concrete are researched after the cleaning process. The follows are themain research results.Trough the analysis of cleaning characteristics of present tunnel cleaning method,draw a conclusion that present cleaning technology have shortcomings of low cleaningefficiency, large energy consumption and secondary pollution to environment. Partlycan produce harmful effect to health of workers.Do some theoretical analysis to physicochemical properties of carbon dioxide anddry ice formation technology.Based on the physicochemical properties of carbon dioxide and cleaning propertiesof dry ice to design a new type of dry ice cleaning machine which is suitable for tunneldry ice cleaning.Use dry ice cleaning machine, triaxial testing machine and tm330thermometer fordry ice cleaning concrete test research. The concrete cleaning test for which apply ofdry ice cleaning machine results show that machine can clean the surface of concretethoroughly, and cleaning effect is obvious. When cleaning time is less than20s, thedevelopment of concrete surface holes are unobvious, and no new holes appear, whichshow that dry ice cleaning is undamaged to concrete surface. The strength test for whichuse triaxial testing machine results show that dry ice cleaning meets the request that can’t destroy tunnel mechanics characteristic when cleaning the tunnel. The temperaturetest results for which use tm330infrared thermometers show that because thetemperature influence is mainly focus on concrete surface within2mm which is theinterface between dirt and concrete surface and it is undamaged to concrete, it satisfiescondition of tunnel cleaning.
