Study On Sustainable Design Method Of Urban Residence

With the global warming and increasingly serious shortages in both energy andresources in1990s, sustainable development became the development strategy of manycountries in the world. China was in the process of rapid urbanization, with largepopulation surging into the cities and sustainable growth in housing demand. However,the urban housing fails to meet the requirements from sustainable development owningto the problems such as large consumption, short life span, low habitability pooradaptability and etc. In order to cope with the global environmental problems, theenergy-saving target has been established by China, namely till2020, the carbondioxide emissions per GDP will decrease by40%—50%when compared to2005. Toachieve this target, it is inevitable for the housing industry to shoulder the importantresponsibility of energy conservation and emission reduction, and the extensive growthmode with high consumption, short life span and low quality shall transform to beintensive growth mode which is characterized with low consumption, long life span andexcellent quality, thus to realize the sustainable development of urban housing.Taken the urban housing with prominent environment problems as the researchobject, and the sustainable development of housing realized on the basis of guaranteeingthe number of housing in the process of rapid urbanization as the target, it tries toconstruct the sustainable designed system for urban housing from three aspects namelythe technical routes, design methods and supplementary means, by keeping a footholdin architectural field and referring to the viewpoints and methods from theories such asecology, system theory and etc. Following the general idea which is from proposingproblems to analyzing and solving problems, the current problems in the sustainabledevelopment of urban housing in China have been pointed out in the research project,the causes for the problems have been analyzed, and finally studies and explorationsinto the sustainable designed system have been conducted by referring to the advancedforeign theories and methods about sustainable housing design and combing out owncharacteristics, thus to promote the entire sustainable transition of the urban housing inChina.The research project mainly consists of the following parts:Part one: The first part of the thesis is the first chapter. The sustainable transitionproblems in the construction of urban housing have been pointed out with the historical background and requirements from current situation, the related concepts and researchscope in this thesis have been defined, and the purpose and significance of this researchhave been made clear.Part two: The second part of the thesis is the second chapter. Taken the historicaldevelopment of environment view as the clue, the sustainable development process ofurban housing in home and abroad have been discussed, and the current situation of thesustainable development in China’s urban housing has been pointed out. On this basis,the related theories and methods concerning the sustainable design for urban housinghave been concluded systematically, which will lay a theoretical and method foundationfor the proposal of sustainable design for urban housing.Part three: The third part of the thesis is the third chapter.Taken the modernecology theory as the basis, and system theory as the research method, the substantivecharacteristics and connotation of sustainable urban housing have been analyzed toestablish the target and principle of the sustainable design for urban housing.Part four: The fourth part of the thesis is the fourth,fifth and sixth chapter.Establishthe sustainable designed system for urban housing from three aspects namely thetechnical routes, design methods and supplementary means, to promote the sustainabletransition of urban housing.Part five: The fifth part of the thesis is the seventh chapter. case analysisConclusion:The conclusion of the thesis is the eighth chapter. Necessaryconclusions for the sustainable design for urban housing have been drawn, andnecessary expectations on the sustainable design for future urban housing have beenproposed.
