China has a vast territory, and from South to North the temperature gradually reduced, especially in the Northeast China and North-west Region, which temperature may reach to40degrees below zero centigrade. Since the reform and opening-up policy was adopted in China, we have devoted our endeavors to the development of our economy and have considerably improved the living standards of the Chinese people, and people’s demand for heating improve a lot.This paper based on a heating project in the Western Inner Mongolia, after considered the actual situation of the project fully, proposed the programme of Boiler Heating Monitoring and Control System based on GPRS Network. System includes surveillance center、heat source and four heating converting station. Hot water that is heated by boiler is transported from boiler to heat exchange station by the circulatory system, after primary of heat exchange unit exchange heat with secondary, heat exchange unit transport heat to corresponding heat user. Surveillance center at a corner of boiler room, the four heating converting station are not together and have a long distance to surveillance center. So we chose a Siemens S7-300PLC as our three boiler’s controller, each heat transfer station use a S7-200PLC as controller. Due to surveillance center and boiler are close together, and the number of communication data is great, and the system demands higher for real-time of the output of control commands, therefore the communication from the Upper PC to S7-300use MPI cable communication. But the distance from monitoring center to the heating exchange stations is long, if we use wire communication, the cost of cable laying and maintenance cost will be improved, at the same time, heating system as a high inertia system, it needn’t high real-time performance. We use wireless communication based on GPRS which is used widely. We use KINGVIEW to develop the Upper PC software in monitoring center, when the system is running, Upper PC monitor key parameters of the entire system real time, reduced hazard that heat disorders brought effectively.In heating supervision system, in addition to the traditional automatic control, we used wireless communication based on GPRS after we consider the actual situation fully. It ensures stable operation of the system and reduces system investments costs of post-maintenance.
