Vacuum breaker is in control of breaking and closing the power system, therefore concernsthe safety of the whole system. Vacuum interrupter is the core component of vacuum breaker,unless degree of the interrupter remaining in the limited range, the breaker might malfunction,even cause system faults. The mainstream of this field has been focusing on the improvement ofevery single testing method, but lacks of comprehensive process involving vacuum predictionand intelligent management of vacuum lifespan. From the view of Expert System, use ofemploying artificial intelligent algorithm to improves the measurement of vacuum degree andthe data melting algorithm, then comes to realizing the prediction of the lifespan of vacuuminterrupter.Firstly, discusses and analysis the structure of vacuum interrupter and the factors attributingto the change of vacuum degree. With a thorough of measuring method of vacuum degree andartificial intelligence theory, choose Visual Prolog as the development tool to establish the ExpertSystem to forecast vacuum lifespan of vacuum interrupter.Then the pulsed magnetron discharge method and the built-in cold cathode regulatory lawmethod were choosed for data collection of vacuum interrupter. The BP neural network is used tofuse the two-way data prediction for prediction which use interrupter vacuum as the goal. Theapplication of the trained data is tested by the neural network and checked with the target results.The fast Aritificial neural network was used to establish the BP neural network, and bundled withVisual Prolog to calculation the vacuum level data which was fused in the expert system.Finally, draw the flow chart of predicting vacuum lifespan Expert System, and the researchcenter on the knowledge base and inference engine of Expert System to establish the completeexpert system. Building block design is used to establish the system according to the functionneeded by the system, and the function block is realized by Visual Prolog. Use of software andaccording to experience formula and standard specification, design rules statement as vacuumlifespan prediction rules. The final prediction offer the lifespan of vacuum interrupter, andaccording to the different situation of vacuum interrupter gives corresponding expertise andsuggestions. The application of Expert System in life-span management and predication providesus a new perspective of intelligent management of vacuum switches.
