With the advances in science and people’s awareness of the structural safetyheightened, the vibration control of existing structures has become a focus of attention,and the use of dampers for vibration control of bridge structures is the direction of currentresearch. This paper is installed on the existing bridge for viscous fluid damper dampingcontrol, while using fiber optic sensing technology in bridge structures for effectivemonitoring.Through the brief introduction in constructed in the form, damping mechanism, thecalculation model, the advantages and disadvantages of viscous fluid damper, apreliminary understanding of the viscous fluid damper damping mechanism, of vibrationdamper for the subsequent analysis of the effect of foundation.Based on theory, the Jialing River Bridge as an engineering background, viscousfluid dampers is installed for security monitoring. By using ansys software for seismicanalysis of the bridge structure. Through the Response spectrum analysis and dynamictime-history analysis of the structure, comparing the results of the analysis, theoreticallyverified that the fluid viscous damper effectively reduces the seismic forces and improvethe safety of the bridge. That makes the bridge in the elastic state under strongearthquakes.By using self-developed security monitoring software for monitoring of the bridge,the real-time response data can be obtained. So we can determine the security status ofthe bridge, to inspect and repair the bridge timely, and ultimately effective in preventingaccidents.
