Study On Xi’an Bus Lines Number Reform

As the “Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone Development Plan” issued by the StateCouncil, the construction goal that made Xi’an became internationalization metropolis wasclearly determined. For the development of economy and the abundant tourism resources, itwould attract a lot of workers, learners and tourists at home and abroad in this constructionprocess. But the current set of City Bus Numbers in Xi’an was rational, which resulted to theinconvenience for local residents and tourists who were not familiar with Xi’an bus lines. Soit’s needed to improve the set of City Bus Numbers according to the characteristics of the cityand the public transport.This paper treated of the development history and current situation of publictransportation and its line Number, and divided Xi’an into10bus area based on the functionof the city layout, which also combined several times changes of the city’s overalldevelopment plan and referred to bus Numbers reform in Seoul and Amoy. According tolength, the number of buses, suits and other characteristics of each line, the clear unifiedprinciple for Bus Number in Xi’an was set, and the Bus Line Number reflect directly its track.At the same time, the Bus Lines were numbered again according to this principle; as well asthe improvement plan was put forward. Because not only did numbers reform involve the busstops changed, but there were also some problems about the set of the bus stops in Xi’an, thispaper analyzed current situation of those bus stops and gave some suggestions.
