Semi-rigid base of asphalt pavement is the main form of all grades highway base in ourcountry. Because of the merits of high strength, low cost, convenient construction and so on, ithas been widely applied in our highway construction, however all kinds of failures ofsemi-rigid base of asphalt pavement have perplexed people all along by the effects of nature,vehicles, design, construction etc. Thus it is a very important practical significance onSemi-rigid base of asphalt pavement study in this paper.At first, the diseases of semi-rigid base of asphalt pavement in existing several expresswayin our country is investigated and studied, the types of semi-rigid base of asphalt pavement isdivided, the cause of all kinds of diseases is analyzed, the preventive measures aiming at allkinds of base disease is proposed combined with the mechanism of disease. Moreover throughthe research it is founded that the diseases of semi-rigid base attributed to the insufficient ofroadbed bearing capacity caused by all kinds of influencing factors, however the surfacedeflection could reflect it well. So, the relation between the surface deflection and semi-rigidbase diseases is analyzed in detail in this paper. At last, combined with the development ofdetection technique at home and abroad, aiming at the all kinds of diseases of semi-rigid baseexisted, the nondestructive testing method such as the examination of explore ground radar,Rayleigh wave test, EH-4continuous conductivity profile electromagnetic method and highdensity resistivity etc is proposed, the merits and demerits of these methods is analyzed bycontrast. According to the need of practical application, the commonly used treatment methodaiming at functional and structural disease is summarized in engineering at present.Simultaneous the testing index and calculated method of treatment effects is proposed in orderto quantify it.
