Interlayers are not completely continuous in ideal because asphalt pavement is paved inlayers. Slidable and loose interlayers will exist in asphalt pavement usually if the interlayer isproperly treated, affecting the service life of the road and its service level. There aresignificant materials differences between base and asphalt surface in semi-rigid base asphaltpavement. On one hand, the influence of modulus of semi-rigid base on stress of asphalt layerinside. On the other hand, the bond strength between base and pavement surface is poor dueto the materials differences. So interlayer between base and pavement surface is the weakestbond in pavement structures. This article mainly researched treatment technology characteristics between semi-rigidbase and asphalt surface through indoor test, mechanical analysis and field test road validation, relying on the Ru-Chen highway in Hunan Province. The main contents are:(1) Applicationsof interlayers treatment technologies and the effect of more than70national highways wereinvestigated in detail. The service condition of prime coat and below seal coat were collectedand analyzed.(2)The mechanical response of the asphalt road surface under different contactconditions was calculated and analyzed by changing interlayer adhesion coefficient K. Theinterlayer contact state of different treatment measures was defined by determining the valueof K, based on the indoor direct shear test results. And the effect on pavement performancewas analyzed. The interlayer contact state of field test between semi-rigid base and pavementsurface is verified.(3)The material utilization amount of Ru-Chen highway sealing layer wasforecasted by researching its design methodology. A large number of indoor optimization testswere done, with interface shear strength as the indicators. The optimum dosage ofsynchronous crushed stone seal layer was gotten and the effect on interface shear strength ofdifferent factors were analyzed at last.(4)The synchronous crushed stone seal coatperformance of waterproof was studied and the effect of high-temperature rutting resistanceand low-temperature crack resistance was analyzed through indoor experiment. The sealeffect on stress absorption digestion was simulated through the finite element method, with thehelp of ABAQUS.(5)The interface shear strength of Ru-Chen highway field test road was detected.
