Researches Of The Environment Facilities Design Based On Urban Street Characteristics

American Landscape Architects Lawrence Halprin (Lawrence Halprin1916-2009)once said:"A city of great importance to its urban landscape or not, it can be set from thestreet furniture of quality and quantity reflected."as we all know, modern city is a flowspace full of modern logistics, people and information. The comprehensive grade andaesthetic level differences in the urban street environmental facilities to serve the public,has become an important part to show its culture and ethos of the implication, and becomea reflection of the life quality of all the people in the city. However, each city because ofits evolutionary process, geographical location, natural conditions, economic developmentand targeting of different factors, each showed their own unique space form and culturalstructure. But in today’s economic globalization, more and more urban constructions aresimilar; how to shape the city’s character has been increasingly affected by their competentauthorities and the general public’ attention!From the perspective of environmental art and the context of research of city’scharacteristics, this article chooses environmental design of the city streets’ characteristicsshape as the subject. On the basis of establishing the orientation of the city streets’characteristics, it starts from the characteristics of the city street which the environmentfacility locates. Through the research of urban street environment features, elements ofdesign sketches, spatial characteristics and design features, and combining the theory ofshaping urban street environment features and analysis of design practice cases, the articleexplores the creation work of the actual project of specific street environmental facilitiesdesign, such as Shennan Mid-Road in Shenzhen, with a view to play a positive role inpromoting the innovation of street environment facilities and offer some experience offacilities of the domestic environment for future street improvement and planning.This paper is divided into four parts:Section1(Chapter1-2): On the basis of analyzing the fundamental agent of theresearch, purpose and significance, this part introduces the background and concept ofurban street environmental facilities, which focuses on statement of problem.Section2(Chapter3-5): the basic theory of environmental facilities which is based on city streets’ characteristies. The main content includes: the concept, types and designfeatures of urban street environmental facilities. Starting with resolving the entering theory,design strategy, functional composition and space construct, this part poses the designtechnique of environment facility.Section3(Chapter6-7): Urban street environmental design facilities case analysis andapplication of exploration. This part, combining with the creation work of the actualproject of specific street environmental facilities design of Shenzhen, analyses the cases ofexcellent environment for domestic and international city streets facilities design.Section4(Conclusion): Summary of research achievements, a follow-up work and theprospect of the urban street environmental facilities.
