Study On Exterior-space Design Of Urban Commercial District Based On Night-behavior Model

In modern city, as the pace of modern life has gotten faster and faster.,"work by dayand relax by night " has become more and more popular, many people choose to go outand do the relaxation leisure activities at night. The time of activities is longer and longer,and the types of activities is more and more abundant at night. Therefore, this make a highclaim for the quantity and quality of urban public space.Commercial district exterior-space is an important part of urban public space, itcarries with many types of night activities, and meet the needs of the nighttime activitiescontent, is the ideal choice of nighttime activities space. At present, the design of thecommercial district exterior-space, the main consideration is to satisfy the needs of thecivic activities during the day, and little attention to the use of space nighttime activistsdemand difference, this is not fit of the increasing trend of urban nighttime activists.This paper seeks to stand the point of view of urban design, and use the theoreticalstudy, method and concept of environmental behavior, time-space structural theory. Bystudy how to make commercial district exterior-space satisfy the needs of thenight-behavior and extend to consider use of nighttime, in order to discuss how to designthe exterior-space of commercial district from the point of night-behavior needs.Thispaper’s main content includes four parts: the first part researches about the background,purpose,meaning and related concepts, and analyses the differences between the internaland external in the related scale, then set up the logical structure of the whole article. Thesecond part separate the night-behavior of Wuhan citizens according to function, andbased on the investigation statistics, sums up the differences between day and nightbehavior in the commercial district exterior-space. The third part separate theexterior-space of commercial district according to function and shape, then focus on theinfluence of the night-behavior model from entity and perception elements ofcommercial district exterior-space. The fourth part explore the design of commercialdistrict exterior-space at night, summarized design guiding ideology, and research fromspace organization system, the guidance system, traffic system and lighting system.Thefifth part takes the Guanggu commercial district for example, analyzes its design of commercial district exterior-space based on night-behavior, then put forward aconstructive suggestion.This paper look forward to discuss the suggestion of the design of commercial districtexterior-space based on night-behavior by researching the case of wuhan, and expect touse the night-behavior considering and time-space structural theory through to the field ofurban planning process.
