Waterproof and adhesive layer,as a part of the structure of cement concrete bridge deckpavement, plays the common role of a waterproof layer and adhesive layer. View of the factthat many domestic and foreign cement concrete bridge had been damaged due to waterproofand adhesive layer,which led to varying degrees of disease damage,caused great economiclosses and negative social impact,so contrary to the types and causes for diseases of thewaterproof and adhesive layer of the bridge deck pavement damage,the structural mechanicsanalysis and materials experimental study on the cement concrete bridge decks withwaterproof and adhesive layer has important theoretical significance and practical value.This paper was based on the analyzed and summarized of the types and causes of diseaseon the concrete bridge deck pavement.First of all,the author established the finite elementmodel on the state of linear elastic,and focused on the size and regularity of the shear stressbetween the bridge deck pavement and the concrete bridge decks.Second,the author madeexperimental study to test the performance of the domestic epoxy asphalt,Japan epoxyadhesive and Japan epoxy asphalt,for the purpose to determine the component ratio,tensilestrength,high and low temperature performance, corrosion resistance and imperviousperformance,etc.Third,the author used the group’s self-developed test equipment,throughlaboratory study on the epoxy-based waterproof and adhesive materials’ roadperformance,including the shear properties and bond performance,compared with the performance of SBS modified asphalt at the same time, for the purpose to determine thecomprehensive road performance of waterproof and adhesive materials.The study results showed that,axle load,the thickness of the asphalt pavement layer andthe state of the vehicle had a greater impact on the shear stress of the waterproof and adhesivelayer on the bridge deck pavement,while the asphalt pavement layer’s moduli had lessimpact.The proportion components of the domestic epoxy asphalt,Japan epoxy adhesive andJapan epoxy asphalt were1:7.6,1:1and1:1:2,while their tensile strength,high and lowtemperature properties, corrosion resistance and impervious performance were better.Everywaterproof and adheive material had only one of the best spreaders.Spreading gravel or nothad impact on the shear and pull strength of waterproof and adhesive layer. Spreading gravelcan increase the shear strength of the waterproof and adhesive layer,but it would hinder thebonding between the layers and reduce the pull strength of the waterproof and adhesivelayer.Considering the role played by the gravel,it should be spreading gravel on thewaterproof and adhesive layer.Temperature and the amount of spreading epoxy-basedmaterials had a greater impact on the shear and pull strength of waterproof and adhesivelayer,both decrease with the increasing of temperature,both increases and then decreases withthe increase of the amount of spreading epoxy-based materials.Comprehensive analysis andcomparison,we can identify that the road performance advantages and disadvantages of thefour kinds of the waterproof and adhesive materials as follows:Japan epoxy asphalt,Japanepoxy adhesive, domestic epoxy asphalt and SBS modified asphalt.When used for the waterproof and adhesive layer on the concrete bridge deck pavement structure, Epoxy-basedwaterproof and adhesive materials had a greater advantage than the thermoplastic SBSmodified asphalt,they were suitable for the waterproof and adhesive materials on the concretebridge deck pavements.
