It is a systematic method of thinking that the architectural design strategy basedon structure systems thinking influxes structural approach into architectureconsideration. It is a kind of problem-finding-and-solving design process rather than apursuit of mere graphical or iconic architectural scheme. Therefore, the consequenceof such design strategy will better fulfill the demand of certain project, and will alsorun at a better performance. This article is looking at the concept of structure systems thinking, whichincludes the overall form-finding control, the guiding of force flows, and as the resultsthe fundamental structure systems. On the other hand in this passage it is alsoexplored that the structural decisions on the basis of spatial consideration. Then thetwo aspects should be put together to discover and work out problems. By introducingthe basic geometric knowledge, this article also discusses about some techniqueswidely used in the field of computer aided architecture design. When putting all theseperspectives into several cases, this article also tries to conclude the techniques thearchitects used, and more importantly, the method they find their directions. At the end of the passage, the techniques and strategies are summarized. It is alsoemphasized the importance of introducing the architectural design strategy based onstructure systems thinking according to current market situation in China. Last but notleast, some suggestions are made as well to prompt this method of thinking.
