Smart Grid is a sort of technology of modernization, of the world andof the future. Utilizations of the renewables are essential subjects for21stcentury. Wind power is a renewable energy resourse without additionalfuel costs, which has become the fastest growing renewable energysource, the most promising energy resourse that can be used vastly in thefuture Smart Grids.1. Researches and studies on Smart Grids carrying out currently, domestic and abouard, have bee summarized and reviewed in detail, interms of grid monitoring, utilization of the renewables, environmentalprotection and power market.2. Core technologies of wind generation have been discussed andanalysed in several aspects, from the current demonstration projects ofwind generation to the three major wind turbines. The requirements andchallenges of wind generation have been proposed.3. Details of the doubly-fed wind turbine mathematical model havebeen discussed and proposed, based on the differential equation. Thewind generation units have been equivalent to traditional units, andparameters of the units have been identified as well. 4. Comparisons among the least-squares method, Kalman filteringalgorithm and a number of artificial intelligence algorithms have beengiven, and a niche-based immune algorithm has been proposed to solvethe problems of parameters identification, thus exploring a new way ofmodelling the wind units.5. In this paper, a practical electrical system integrated with windunits has been built, to determine the impacts of wind generation to a realnetworks. The whole discussions and conclusions in this dissertationprovides a good reference for relevant works in this field. |
