The electric furnace as a high energy-consuming equipment, about20percent of the energy is taken away by the flue gas in the smelting process. The traditional treatment of the water temperature gas cooling solves the problem of pollution, but ignores the issue of waste heat recovery. With the electric furnace smelting technology innovation, the traditional approach can’t meet the flue gas emission reduction requirements. Using of waste heat recovery boiler furnace flue gas waste heat has became an important measure for electric energy.This paper analyzes the furnace waste heat boiler heating surface of concrete structure and the heat transfer process with the flue gas, and establishes a mathematical model of heat transfer calculation, and determines the heat transfer aspects of the calculation method and the calculation of the specific heating surface heat flow, and designing a Thermal calculation program for it by Visual Basic6.0, Excel and Access. The software is available for thermal design calculations and heat checking calculation of conventional electric heat pipe waste heat boiler and furnace waste heat boiler, beside the software can calculate the flue gas, water and steam heat furnace exhaust data. The software is divided different types of boilers into different structures, conventional waste heat boiler is divided into the super heater, evaporator, economizer three kinds of heating surface, heat pipe waste boiler is divided into the evaporator, the heat pipe economizer, evaporative cooling flue In the calculation procedure used each node temperature to calculate each period of heat absorption and the heating surface area. Users can choose any of the heating surface and the flexible layout. The output result which is displayed in the form of table and graph and saved in the user database is visual for users.Finally, the paper takes a electric furnace for the example, using the software to calculate thermal data. And analysis of thermal parameters and structural parameters of the impact of electric furnace waste heat boiler, and gets the law about electric furnace waste heat boiler.
