The slow process of China’s aging residential buildings is not suitable for our fast aging process, in this context; China’s aging residential building is selected as the research topic. It is the actual investigation on the basis of the way in which aged care and housing demand survey in Hefei. Research methods are based on actual survey results. The full study is under the guidance of the relevant theories, the combination of available information and the analysis of survey results, and finally the comments and suggestions are made.It is found that the aging population presents the issues and the impact on our society based on the analysis of the situation and development trend of international as well as the aging population in China. Aging population study indicates:it has features of huge population, the rapid development of aging people, uneven regional development, urban and rural inverted significant gender imbalance between the rich before the old features. The elderly and the physiological, psychological, social needs, as well as behavioral characteristics are also analyzed.Aging residential buildings are divided into seven major categories, according to the representative of the United States, Sweden, Russia, Japan, Singapore and other countries, whose research on aging residential buildings situation is found on the basis of the physical condition of older persons. The development and construction of the aging residential building types in these countries are based on their own national conditions. Combined with an overview of residential buildings research on aging at home and abroad, and the aged mode selection and housing demand survey in Hefei, and our traditional values and the actual conditions, I think we have to break the traditional family pension based, social pension auxiliary pension model, and change to the social old-age-based pension, family pension, supplemented by room mode, vigorously develop the five types of aging residential buildings. The paper analyzes the above five types of architectural design principles, supplemented by case analysis.Senior housing is a suitable building type for a family support model, and the "two generation-home" form has been gradually showing a good momentum of development, the architectural design industry also made some new exploration of this type.It has good prospects in China.Elderly apartments are profitable building types. But in China, the number of apartments for the elderly that have large-scale, more comprehensive facilities is still very small. I suggest that certain number of apartments for the elderly could be set up a certain percentage of a community in the social pension or more communities when the community planning is made, and the hardware and software requirements of the apartments for the elderly are also should be improved.A welfare institution is the welfare of the Social Security Model building type. In many places of China, the orphanage conditions are poor, and lack of support of the government and all sectors of society. Overall consideration to the rational design of the orphanage, for better economic policy conditions is needed when regional or town planning is made.Daycare center is a social profitability of the kindergarten-like aging residential building type. Unified design can be based on community planning. It is suitable for the families that lack of time and energy to take care of the ordinary of the elderly, and the moderate development should be built according to the various communities. The aging nursing homes are a range of apartments for the elderly and hospitals with a medical nature of aging residential building. It is mainly for the sick and elderly who should be taken a long time nursing care. This type in China is still few, I believe it can be developed in our country, and the development can be selected according to different conditions and needs of different regions of moderate.
