| Regard to the order of the master urban design and master planning in small towns, academia still being explored. The convergence of the master urban design and master planning is the important issues facing urban planning at this stage. If the thinking of urban design isn’t integration into the master plan, the preparation of urban design would difficult to converge with the master planning, then the shaping of urban characteristics can not be success.Urban design eventually lost its meaning.Research of theory and practice about master plan and the master urban design of small towns in domestic and foreign. I conclude that create a whole city features and improve the environmental quality of urban space and urban space,the master urban design is humane effective means.The existing master planning, in particular, the lack of the master planning consider the characteristics about the waterfront small towns, mainly due to the relative lack of master planning on the shaping of urban characteristics.This paper put the small Waterfront town master planning as a study. The five elements thought about city image of Kevin Lynch is the starting point to explore how to shape town features of small waterfront town in the master planning. On the basis of analysis of the status about the human and natural characteristics, to image of the town as a whole space, such as style, form and other related elements.Then the land layout embodiment can be optimize the towns master quality of the space environment can be improve.And proposed that part of the urban design of the elements can put into the master planning. Then, through the master planning of the Lu’an City, validate the thesis view.At last through the improvement of master planning approach to improve the quality of the space environment, and shaping urban characteristics. |
