With the rapid development of LED lighting industry, the landscape lighting control system is widely used in places such as the theater, gym, business center, the city square and so on. Accompanied by the increasing application requirements, the technology of landscape lighting control system also experienced continuous innovation. As the traditional analogy lighting control technology has a lot of disadvantages such as low control accuracy, poor anti-interference ability, dull control methods, etc. it has been unable to adapt to the market demand, and has gradually been replaced by the digital lighting control technology.At present, the digital lighting control system on the market often use MCU or ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) as the core, combined with the DMX512protocol, it realized the real-time control over the landscape lighting lamps. The operating frequency of the MCU is low, and it decided that the system which chose MCU as control core has following characteristics such as limited arithmetic capability, low control rate, poor real-time capability, etc. Though the ARM family embedded control system has a lot of advantage such as high performance, low cost, less energy consumption, etc. its owns very limited peripheral resources, and it can’t meet the vast quantities of requirements of LED lighting control link in the landscape lighting control system. The peripheral resources of the ARM control system can be made up by software, but it also decreased the processing speed of the system, and can’t meet the requirement of the landscape lighting system toward real-time capability.With the increasing development of the embedded system, system need to combine a variety of chips together, and the system design idea about clear division of labor and intercoordination has gradually been recognized. This paper designed a kind of program that based on the ARM architecture CPU and FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array), realized the complementation of the operation speed and the peripheral resources of the landscape lighting control system. Besides, this paper applied the dual network ports card chip DM9003into the embedded system, and realized the cascading Ethernet interface communication in the embedded system. Combined with the Art-Net network lighting agreement, we finished an example application of network interface technology in the landscape lighting control system.
