The auto main drive bevel gear includes the spiral bevel gear drive and hypoidgear drive. Hypoid gear drive is the generic form of the auto main drive bevel gear. Spiralbevel gear can be used as the special case of hypoid gear drive’s offset from zero.Compared with ordinary bevel gear, hypoid gear has larger overlapping coefficient, thelower tooth surface pressure, high intensity, with a smooth transmission, relatively smallerimpact and noise, high carrying capacity and long lifetime. Because of these advantages,the hypoid gear is widely used in various types of vehicles.The design and research onhypoid gear, has an important position and role in the machinery industry and automobileindustry. However, the structure of hypoid gears are quite complex and it has so manydesign parameters, which brings a lot of difficulties to the hypoid gear designer. So thepaper will use the Visual C++programming tools to develop the visualization system forthe auto main drive bevel gear. The system will be able to complete the parameter designof hypoid gear geometry structure, the tooth surface active design easily, and be able tocarry on error sensitivity analysis which is based on the geometry structure design and thetooth surface active design of hypoid gear.The paper’s research is based on the hypoid gear theory knowledge andvisualization program design at home and abroad. The paper mainly completes thefollowing aspects:1. Aiming at the current study status in hypoid gears in China, the general ideasand R&D schemes of the visualization system of auto main drive bevel gear are putforward. 2. The paper has deeply analyzed the basic design parameters of geometrystructure, the parameters of tooth structure, builds the geometry and mathematical models,and does on the tooth surface of the error sensitivity analysis.3. By analyzing and comparing to the visual programming software, Visual C++is chosen as development platform, the paper completes the functions of each designmodule and ensures the openness of the system.4. In the design process, the paper has built the analysis for system’svisualization and intelligence and controlled the each input parameters in order to ensurethe accuracy of this system.5. The paper researches and develops a practical and value visual designsoftware system for the auto main drive bevel gear. It makes the engineering and technicalpersonnel to engage in a more convenient and efficient gear design.The auto main drive bevel gear visual design system is based on object-orientedC++development, with a high degree of modularity, portability, readability, and easymaintenance features, can facilitate the completion of hypoid gear geometry parametersdesign, tooth surface active design and tooth surface error sensitivity analysis. This systemis easy to use, has friendly interface, safe and reliable operation, realized from the initialdata input to the parametric design, parametric drawing. Designers can not only save timeand effort, but also in the gear design engineering and technical personnel have asupporting role, shortening the design cycle.
