Steel reinforced concrete (SRC) columns with special-shaped section have high loadcarrying capacity, big stiffness and excellent earthquake resistance qualities as well as SRCcolumns. And because they have the same thickness with limb-filled walls, they have theadvantages of saving room, distinct economic benefit and so on. So SRC columns withspecial-shaped section will be used in structures extensively. The fire resistance capabilitiesof column has significant impact in a structure, because column is the important loadbearing structural element. However, there is no experimental research on fire resistancecapabilities of SRC columns with special-shaped section recently. The fire resistance ofT-cross section special-shaped steel reinforced concrete columns were analyzed with thefinite element analysis software.The main contents including:(1)Finite element model were built to investigate the fire behavior of special-shapedSRC columns with T-cross section. Test results of T-shaped reinforced concrete(RC)columns and SRC columns under standard fire were used to verify the aforementionedmodel, including temperature field distribution and fire resistance of the columns. Thecalculated results of temperature field and fire resistance agree well with those test results.(2) The verified model was then used to do parametric studies of related factors onfire resistance of T-shaped SRC columns, including steel proportion, load eccentricity,longitudinal bar ratio, dimension of cross-section,axial load ratio, the strength grade ofconcrete, Steel strength and slenderness ratio. The result shows: axial load ratio,eccentricity, dimension of cross-section and steel proportion are the main effects of the fireresistance of T-cross section special-shaped steel reinforced concrete columns; longitudinalbar ratio, slenderness ratio, the strength grade of concrete and steel strength are thesecondary effects.
