With the further studying of the rock-soil dynamics, the wave testing technologyhas been extensively applied in the control and the evaluation of the quality of theroadbed, because of its large testing distance、simple operation、low lost、real-timemonitoring in the construction, etc. However, the application and extension of the wavetesting technology is difficult, because of the lack of the wave evaluation criteria andthe lack of the thorough study on the wave propagation law and its characteristics in therock and soil mass medium. So the evaluation method of the compaction quality of thesoil-stone medium was deep studied though the theoretical analysis、the laboratory testand the field test, based on the S-wave velocity testing. The main points were brieflysummarized as follows:1、Based on the wave propagation characteristics, the method of testing theS-wave velocity of the rock and soil mass compaction sample was put forward, whichhas been applied for the National Inventor,s Patent Right.2、Based on the soil-stone elastic wave theory, The wave inversion model of thecompaction degree of the soil-stone medium were gained, though the simplifiedderivation of the theoretical equation of the S-wave velocity. Then its reliability wasproved with the experiment of the model roadbed.3、Based on the research of the wave propagation characteristics of soil-stonemedium, the relationships between the shear wave velocity and the impact factors, suchas the dry density、the porosity、the debris proportion、the water content, and so on,were studied with the experiments and the theoretical analysis.4、Based on the reliability theory, the mechanism of the variability factors、thereasons that lead to the variability and the changes during the rolling process werestudied. Then the dual index system between the compaction degree median and itsreliability was established as a foundation to build the wave evaluation standard for thecompaction degree of the soil-stone medium.5、Such as Changtong high speed road of Fengxin、 Ruixun high speed road ofHuichang and so on were tested with the multi-channel Rayleigh wave testing. Then thequality of the roadbeds was evaluated through these kinds of methods (the modelcalculation method, the calibration curve method, the sand replacement method).
