Tibet is the main body of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, has a special and complex geological setting. Tectonically located in the north and south of the Alps between the mainland-a huge mountain of the eastern Himalayas. As the continued northward subduction of the Indian plate, causing uplift of the Tibetan Plateau constantly, so that the plateau south of the Himalayas, the average altitude of about6000m, which became the youngest world’s highest plateau, where altitudes as high as Mount Everest known as the world8844.43m the "third pole." Tibet within the mountains and canyons, geological conditions are very complex, fragile, geological disasters have complete types, widely distributed, large-scale outbreak of frequent, serious harm, the characteristics of governance is difficult. By the above factors, mainly reflected in the type of road hazard debris flow, landslides, avalanches, damaged roads, such as freezing and thawing permafrost. Serious types of road hazards, often resulting in my area national and provincial trunk highways traffic interruptions, seriously affect the smooth flow of traffic and road safety.The degree of geological disasters and disaster body are closely related to the property itself, but also with people’s lack of knowledge of geological disasters, to prevent ineffective; not a sound, unified geological disaster prevention planning, prevention of geological disasters will be in the blind, the passive state. In recent years, with the region’s national and provincial trunk prevention of geological disasters in depth, we need to transport workers to the region of Tibet national and provincial trunk highways prevention and control of geological disasters should be more fully recognized, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive land, scientific, geological disaster prevention planning, to guide the conduct planned, the purpose of prevention of geological disasters, to minimize or avoid geological disasters may result in losses.In this paper, Tibet national and provincial trunk highway geological hazards investigation based on data, discusses the region’s main highway along the typical geological disaster type, size, distribution and trends, and geological hazards along the main highway to the analysis and formation mechanism Countermeasures.
