Fabriform sand has been used widely in fields of coast protection dam, port,wharf, land reclamation engineering etc. However, the mechanism of fabriform sand has notbeen studied systematically up to date, the applications of the technique in practice are limited.On the basis of the application of fabriform sand at home and abroad, and combined withZhoutouzui tunnel engineering, in this paper, shear test, uniaxial compression test and fieldmodel test are used to study mechanical properties of fabriform sand, the main contents arelisted as follows:1. Reference the relevant documents and give a brief analysis of limitations of previousexperiments, and make improvement and optimization of countermeasures2. the uniaxial compression tests on different filling degree are performed to study thestress-strain relation and its limit strength, its enhancement mechanism and failure mode areanalyzed, based on this, combined with the relevant constitutive equations, its strength areestimated.3. As for the interface friction test between fabriform sand, the results show that: theinterface friction angel between geotextile and sand is lower than that of sand, and geotextileand geotextile the interface friction angel between is lower than that of sand; The interfacefriction angel increases with the filling degree increasing, and its results can be considered aslinear regression, the straight line crosses the original point because that value of c is verysmall; Normal stress has influence on the interface friction angel, when it is relatively small,the change of the results is obvious; When it is bigger, it has less effect.
