Research Of On-line Check System Of Relay Protection Setting Value

The relay protection is the first line to keep the power system running safely, the value calculated off-line is usually determined based on the maximum operation, checked based on the minimum operation, but in actual operation, the relay setting may can not meet selectivity and sensitivity due to the operation modes considered not comprehensive, resulting in the protection act without selection, which may bring a huge losses to the power system and the economic, thus, this paper developed a-relay setting value on-line check system, which can get the current status of the grids from the cross-section files, read the current protection setting values from the protection devices, according to the rules of order and the experience of the operating people, check the selectivity and sensitivity, display the results not meet the requirements under different levels.First of all, the relay setting and checking process are analyzed and compared, to find them related to three areas:operation mode, setting value and performance requirements, you can see that they are not opposite but correlative. Then, combined with the setting calculation of thought, the on-line check method is proposed, compared with the previous method based on the protection scope, reduce the computation greatly; Secondly, build an online checking expert system, checking rules are expressed though Production, protection devices are modeled through Framework perfectly, and then inference engine is introduced in detail, the check output results can be seen visually by the histogram; then, the method of setting calculation using genetic algorithm is researched, the time value and the protecting value can be calculated for the first time, the process of the algorithm is elaborated in detail, and the algorithm is verified by the example; at last, the overall function of the system is introduced, which contains graphical modeling, fault calculation, setting calculation, online check, and data management these several modules, and design the interface of the online check module.This relay setting value online check system researched and designed in the paper has been successfully used on line, and has been unanimously praised by users.
