Relay protection is the first defense line of the power system to keeping safe and stable.Simultaneously it is a power system security guards and service provider equipment. Inrecent years the rapid development of relay protection fault and information system, playing apivotal role in the information collection and other field operation of relay protection andfault recording devices. And through the collation and analysis of data, allowing relayoperation maintenance personnel, comprehensive access to information of various types ofon-site operation of the device in the distance fast, effectively improve the level ofinformation protection management.In Guangdong Power Grid Corporation and China Southern Power Grid Company,development and the construction of relay protection fault and information system have beencarrying out to research and work since2005. Coverage of the relay protection and faultinformation system more widely, its function matures. Relay protection and fault informationsystem in real-time monitoring system operation, protection devices communicate status,protection and alarm event information, call protection device setting and tone admittingwaves play an important role, but for some of the advanced features of the application arestill some limitations.This article describes the construction and application of the situation Dongguan areagrid relay protection and fault information system, a detailed description of the main researchbackground and auto-check function of the underlying platform, the project value based onthe use of relay protection fault and information system existing relay protection fault andinformation system by protecting manufacturers open communication interface protectiondevice actual value acquisition, and deployment of value in the safe zone on a Web server bychecking module relay protection and fault information system power protection devices toachieve a given value of automatic checking, checking the results of relay protection faultand information system through a Web server in the security zone in publish. Mainly includes the following aspects:1) the system software and hardware components;2) automatic checking of value realization;3) secure transmission of data across the region;4) checking the results of Web publishing.The research for advanced applications and information systems protection fault madeuseful explorations, can promote the use of the grid in the south, can reduce the chance ofmanual errors and improve work efficiency.
