With the reform of China’s economic system, people’s living standards rising, coupled with the new Western impact and influence of residential environmental landscape design concept put forward higher requirements for Landscape Design in residential areas and green residential area landscape green landscape space as a human living environment, to cause a high degree of social attention, thus promoting the rapid development of the residential area of the environmental landscape.But at the same time in the fast growing residential area environmental landscape planning there are some problems, such as the design theme is not new, the lack of innovation; landscape artistic depiction of a single, not adequately represent the cultural characteristics of the region; plant landscape configuration changes in the form of rich in species selection did not do planting acoording to the environmentIn this paper, the historical development, current development on the landscape of domestic and international urban living environment and development process the error analysis, and the study of Eastern and Western cultures, aesthetic and ideological differences. Under the premise of respect historical and cultural heritage, so that all human-centered design to handle the relationship between man and nature and design of the environmental landscape of residential areas in line with the needs of modern life; Under the principle of respect for the laws of nature, the environmental landscape of the residential area to form a stable ecosystem, and thus in harmony with the natural landscape ecosystem, and ultimately create a comfortable, natural, safe, close and pleasant artificial landscape space, so the life of the modern occupants in the landscape close to the natural environment. In this paper, the establishment of the new target of the environmental landscape of residential areas, China’s environmental landscape of the residential area should be designed to follow the " People-oriented, man and nature coexist" of the principle of modern living.Environmental landscape design for our residential area provides a reference value of the design principles and design concept, so this study the content more realistic guiding significance.
