By elaboration the status quo of traditional energy and traditional powered vehicles, thepossibility of the development of new energy vehicles was analyzed. On the analysis of thepolicy of various countries on new energy automobile, the future trend of development ofnew energy vehicles was predicted, combined with the current situation of electric vehiclebattery power.By analysis of existing folding car’s folding mechanism, combined the character of newenergy car designing, a drawer-type-chassis-R-Pair-folded folding car was designed to solvethe problem of parking difficult for the city under the guidance of the innovative designconcepts. The3D model including the main parts of folding car was built and movementsimulation was conducted in light of UG package, checking interference was conducted at thesame time. And then, a1/8model car was made.In order to ensure the strength of the folding chassis structure, combined with the typicalconditions in practice, bending conditions, typical conditions including reversing conditionand emergency braking situation were analyzed. By analyzing, the weakness in the frame wasto be found out, which was the basic of optimum design. At the same time, modal analysiswas carried out. According to the experience, the first ten order modal of the frame werecalculated by mode analysis, and then proper frequency and corresponding vibration model ofthe frame were obtained. The analysis results indicated that vibration mode of the frameconformed to the using standard of the electric automobile. The work of the paper pointed outthe direction for the chassis design of the electric automobile and laid the foundation for thesubsequent improvement design and optimization.
