Realiazation of auto-folding function was studied in 4.5m vehicular paraboloid antenna in order to meet high mobility requirements, auto-folding function and without manual disassembly. Furthermore application of advanced material and advanced design approach was discussed and the detailed design of 4.5m vehicular auto-folding antenna is determined, in this paper.Antenna reflector surface accuracy will directly affect the quality of the electrical performance of whole system. Higher precision reflector surface is required, but the reflector accuracy is in conflict with the limited dimension and weight index. Therefore, higher requirements are presented for the design of 4.5m vehicular auto-folding antenna. Reflector surface not only requires high precision and lightweight, but also auto-folding function is required. Application of carbon fiber composite material in antenna design is introduced in detail. Antenna reflector made of carbon fiber composite material which can improve the accuracy of the reflector surface, also light weight is available for achievement of auto-folding function.Compared with the traditional design, application of Pro/E 3D modeling software in antenna design, and introduction of MSC FEA analysis software for antenna simulation can effectively reduce design errors, improve design success rate and ensure of the stiffness and strength of the antenna. Formerly, the problems which can only be discovered after the prototype to be produced, can be found and dealed with during the process of 3D design and FEM analysis, which can greatly improve the accuracy and efficiency of the design, can provide reference for other dimension vehicular auto-folding antenna, and with great practical significance and application prospect.Design of the antenna structure system although the successful completion, but due to the limited level of the author, research time constraints and other factors, the article also has some shortcomings, such as:the overall mobility of the antenna structure system need to be improved and the failure to establish a complete system of finite element antenna structure model. In order to improve these deficiencies, improve the design level of the structure system, in-depth study of these two shortcomings, is the focus of the future structure design of the antenna system.
