Energy supply and environment protection are important issues for sustainable People’s higher demands on comfort and intelligentize of the car with increasing auto load make growing demands on the performance of automotive electric. However, the employed current automobile generator using of claw-pole, a special structure, exists large amounts of problems in materials, structures, and techniques, which have caused low power per volume rate. Therefore, it is particularly important to establish electromagnetic model, and calculate and optimize parameter.Research of the Issue starts form calculation method for magnetic circuit. The fundamental states of generator’s pole embrace and saturation coefficient is determined by calculating the parameter of air-gap flux density, stator tooth flux density, stator yoke flux density, rotor claw body flux density, rotor pole shoe flux density, and rotor yoke flux density of claw-pole generator’s light magnetic circuit in accordance with turnkey structures and material parameters. And then to determine the total generator output efficiency through the armature reaction’s intensity and each part’s loss in the load cases, which are determined by calculating the pay, direct axis reactance of armature reaction of claw-pole generator.After that, compared with method for magnetic circuit, electromagnetic simulation of claw-pole generator done by exactly building3D model of claw-pole generator based on Ansoft, and parameter calculation of each part of nonload’s and load’s electric and magnetic carried out by post-processing function of software are necessary to validate the accuracy of the modeling and calculation under the generator performance experiment. Finally, determine the effects of parameter on the generator output efficiency through the simulation, and achieve the highest efficiency of generator through the parameter optimization.
