China has rise the boom to research and construct automatic hump yard, for the purpose to adapt the new form of requirements. At present, the research on automatic hump mainly focus on speed control system, signaling system, flat and longitudinal design, etc. These studies have already achieved good results, with the use of new technology and new materials, and the auxiliary of computer tool. However, the hump automation research is something complicated system engineering, so, the shortages of research on any link of the system can limit the process of the hump automation.When the hump design completed, to check the plane design and the longitudinal section design meets safety requirements whether or not, the designers usually take the speed of vehicles on calculation parking spots, and time interval of vehicles, before and after, at the station of switch and retarder, as standard, and then show the results on hump checking chart. Based on resistance curve, the traditional drawing methods of hump checking chart take the energy head line graphic method and draw the chart with artificial mapping way. The drawing methods of hump checking chart has become one of the factors which limit the process of the hump automation, because the artificial mapping way takes huge labour and have some defects, such as low graphics efficiency, short graphic precision, and so on.This paper is based on analyzing the graphics parameters of hump checking chart, takes the methods and steps of artificial mapping way as background, use Visual LISP language to do second development about AutoCAD, and at last reach the goal to draw hump checking chart automation in AutoCAD interface by computer program. After that, this paper preliminary discussion the actual application value of the drawing program, based on the background of the optimization problem about braking force distribution solutions on retarder location in practical work. The results of the explore show that, the automatic drawing program researched and designed for hump checking chart in this paper has certain engineering practice application value, and it can adapt to the needs of the hump automation process well.
