Research On The Application Of Sea Ice Information Navigating In The Arctic Northeast Route

Arctic Ocean is the culmination of Europe, Asia and North America. The Arctic Route is the shortcut throughout Europe, North America and East Asia when go in for maritime transport. Easy navigation, resource development and strategic position will make the Arctic Route become a major part of the international shipping course. The integration of the world economy is becoming faster and faster, shipping industry will take a major position in the international trade.In recent years, as the global climate is becoming warmer year by year, the temperature of Arctic is rising up, ice is melting down, the scope of ice is becoming narrow down, and the opening of the Arctic Route will be possible. Sea ice in the Arctic is one of the main factors that influence the safe voyage and the opening of the Arctic Route. When sailing in the Arctic Route, it appears very important to the driver to master the ice information throughout the route.Firstly, this paper makes a detail introduction of the Arctic Northeast Route according to the existing data and related research results, else, analyzes the7concrete Northeast Routes’characteristics and the general situation of the sea area along the way. By collecting and organizing the research results that experts at home and abroad had made about the change law of Arctic sea ice along the Northeast, given the overall change trend about the Arctic sea ice.Secondly, by tracking, researching and screening the main source of ice information along the Northeast Route on the internet, the paper gives several main web sites such as Canada Ice Service, National Data Center and IPY Ice Logistics Portal. Through the translation, analysis and arrange of the websites, this paper gives the identification method about ice information along the Arctic Northeast Route that online, that is, through the identification of the Egg Code in the graph to understand the ice information of specific sea area. Each Egg Code is combined by different symbols and numbers, and they are combined to figure the meaning of the Egg Code. In international general chart, it is to use these symbols and numbers in the Egg Codes to figure the detailed ice information of the corresponding sea area.At last, this paper gives the usage of the ice information online that can be used when sailing in the Northeast Route, and else, it gives the method to understand the ice information through the IPY Ice Logistics Portal when sailing along the Northeast Route and the general application process.This study can make the pilot know ice information quickly and effectively when sailing in Northeast Route, and it can make them master the ice conditions in the area where they in at any time so that it can achieve the purpose that guarantee the safety of voyage sailing in Northeast Route.
