The Reliability Analysis Of A Trainer’s Landing Gear Retracting-extending Mechanism

Mechanism reliability is an important part of the weaponry reliability, which is one of thekey parts for normal operation of weapons. This paper presents the background, the content ofmechanism reliability and the situation of reliability research at home and abroad. It discussesthe main analytical approach for planar skeletal mechanism’structure、locomotion and forceanalysis. It also introduces the principle、methods and procedures of mechanism reliabilityanalysis.A landing gear retracting-extending mechanism is one of the key components of anaircraft, whose working performance directly affects the flying security and the airplane’stakeoff and landing performance. On the basis of elementary principle, this paper makes areasonable simplification about a trainer’s landing gear retracting-extending mechanism,carries on the mechanism analysis and the simulation computation using the Matlab software,got the kinematic diagram of mechanism; Has carried on the static strength reliability analysisand the simulation computation to the important parts of the landing gear retracting-extendingmechanism, got the related conclusion; In view of the occurred flight accident because ofthe failed emergency retracting mechanism, established the detailed motion reliability modelfor the landing gear retracting mechanism, with airspeed and relative conditions considered,the motion process reliabilities of the landing gear emergency extending system weresimulated on computer by using Matlab software, its methods and results have a certainsignificance to avoid similar accidents; Based on the FMEA and FTA analysis of landing gearretracting-extending mechanism’lock system, makes a reliability analysis about typical failureof lock system by using the system reliability analysis method, and put forward somesuggestions to improve the reliability of the lock system.
