On Space Expansion Of The Central Urban Area Of Tongcheng

In recent years, especially during the "12th five-year plan" period, the urban development of Tongcheng have been at another critical stage. Along with the promoting of the development strategy of Hefei Economic Cicle, Tongcheng has become the only one county-level city. With the advantages of developed private economy and its rich humanism, Tongcheng city should seize the opportunity, constructing to be the bases of competitive industry, culture-oriented travel and specific farm product supply. Also, the goal is to make Tongcheng city become a regional center city and to play an important role in Hefei Ecomic Cicle.In this thesis, with the Spatial Extension of Central Area of Tongcheng City as the research object, with the center axis, growth, organic evacuation, concentric circle model, fan model and multi core model theory as the basis, with the reality that Central area of Tongcheng city influenced by the planning and actual evolution, we learn from the domestic similar cases and analyzed the factors that influence the city spatial expansion, then further decided the spatial development trend of the Central Area. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)There are very close relationships among historical background, socioeconomic development, major facilities and industrial development, the protection of its history and culture. Specifically, the transportation condition is the key factor of influencing the city development.(2)The expansion space selection of the Central Area must be based on the assessment of suitability of foundation, seeking the basic support and basis.(3)According to the development goals of Tongcheng city, the most reasonable spatial distribution pattern of the central area should go through a substantial change from a single center to multi-centers. As the loose constraints of natural resource and the promotion influence of the major industrial determine the transport and economic flows of Tongcheng city, the Easten part will become the main expansion direction of Tongcheng city.(4) For the urban space expansion of historical and cultural city, the function and population of the old city should be decongested scientifically and reasonably, based on great-leap-forward development. Thus, the expansion of this kind city is not only the increase in "quantity" but also the increase in more "quality"The above conclusions may provide useful guidance for the healthy development of Tongcheng city. Meanwhile, this thesis may be a useful reference for the urban space expansion of the same type of city.
