The crankshaft is one of the most important components of dieselengine,which endures complex and alternating loads,the crankshaft hascomplex dynamic characteristics and affects the performance reliability.economy and the engine life directly. Therefore,it has important practicalsignificance to analyze the crankshaft on the theory and practice. Thetraditional analytical methods are so simply that they can not be satisfied withthe actual demands. A method that combined finite element method withmulti-body dynamics simulation is applied to carry on dynamics analysissimulation on the V8diesel engine crankshaft system in this article.established reasonable diesel engine crankshaft system dynamic model,completed the simulation in an action cycle. researched on real-time dynamicresponse under the actual working conditions of the crankshaft to determinerisk location and ultimate stress and structural optimization.Using Solidworks and Multi-body System Dynamics software ADAMSand the Finite Element Analysis software ANSYS,The virtual prototype of a diesel engine crankshaft (crankshaft mechanism) was created in this paper.Based on the virtual prototype model,a kinematics and a dynamic simulationof the crankshaft mechanism were taken by ADAMS software, thenmovement disciplinarians(displacement,velocity,acceleration,etc) aboutevery component at any moment and any position was got. The force betweencomponents was got at the same time. The dynamic loads acting on thecrankshaft during work process of the engine was got too. A more accuratestress and deformation analysis could be done by using the FEA software. Sothe dynamic response during the whole work process of the crankshaft and thesimulations for the transient behavior could be got. The dangerous parts of thecrankshaft during the work process could be found. It also offered referencefor the crankshaft optimum design.According to the results,the dynamic response analysis of the enginecrankshaft can be done by using the virtual prototype technology with themeans of FEA. Further more, the results are satisfied. It is great meanings,such as amending the crankshaft,improving the design level,optimizing thecharacter of engine. Generally speaking,it is an economical,effective and ascientific method.
