At present, the railway transport of China is developing faster than before, especially inthe important railway station in big cities. And there is a new railway passenger station ofwhich the waiting hall goes across the railway line. Comparing to the old railway passengerstation, the new railway passenger station haves three advantages. Fisrt, the passengers can goto the railway station from two different direction. Second, the passengers can go to thestation from the high level, leave the station from the low level, which is very efficient andconvenient for the passengers. Third, the distance from the waiting hall to the platform ismuch shorter than the distance of the old railway passenger station. Therefore the new railwaystation is being used more and more extensive.At the same time, because of the different waiting mode, the commercial space of thenew railway passenger station is different relatively. Although the train of the new railwaystation have been realized “bus operation”, as the situation of china, the waiting mode is notsame as the foreign. From the reason above,the design of the commercial space of the newrailway station could not the foreign research results.Based on the research and the deep analysis on commercial space of the new railwaystation existing,we can get the design strategy. The article include four parts:Part one, the first chapter is the introduction, describes the background research object,research significance, the main research methods of the this topic.Part two, the second chapter, the chapter describes the development of domestic andforeign railway passenger station and commercial space, analysis and compare theenlightenment of the commercial space of other communication media.Part three, the third and four chapter analysis the current commercial space designcondition and passenger consumption demand of the new railway station. the third chapteranalysis the new railway station from three different aspect: the correlativity between thelayout of commercial space and passenger line; the correlativity between the commercialspace and other functions of the railway station; the cultural commercial space. The fourthchapter analysis passenger consumption demand from the follow aspects: the travel purposeof the passenger, baggage number, waiting time, the species of commercial consumption, theconsumption place which based on the research on the Guangzhou South Railway Station.Part four, the fifth chapter, from the analysis above, we can get the conclusion that thedesign of commercial space should based on the passenger consumption demand andpassenger line and relative strategy.
