A Study On Traditional Town Structure Of Yuanshui River Basin

Because of varied terrain and the economy developing imbalanced in Hunanprovince, it produced the diversity of physical form and its business model aroundHunan province. Thereinto, Yuanshui River basin is located in main underdevelopedregion, which is basically Chinese central and western remote mountainous area withlower overall level of economic. Since ancestor here lived beside rivers, many townsbooming because of river distributed in this basin. Owe to the occlusive naturalenvironment, many well-protected traditional streets and buildings remains theoriginal sample miraculously. These traditional town mostly dated back to Ming andQing dynasties is an important historical accumulation in Yuanshui River basin andvalued high in art and scientific research as a material carrier of traditional economic,culture of Hunan province. It is an important cultural heritage and non-renewablenatural landscape. The traditional towns with clear space system structure and valueorientation, regardless of their size, mostly located properly, and played an importantrole of supporting in execising functions and maintaining social order. it is easy to berecognized by residents.The research of the space structure of traditional towns cannot be separated fromthe research of space elements and the research frame of "Three big problem","twolevel". Town space structure forms included the density of all kinds of material entity,distribution and form within the scope of the towns. And because of reasons of Theirformation, it also included two different meaning: one is space system formated byinner regional economic ties, namely economic space, the other is town spacesdesigned by administrative geographical divisions, namely administrative space. Anyreal state of town spaces contains the above two meaning. The research of thestructure of town spaces is essentially the research of mechanism of action to spacestructure of space factors. So we can discover the rule of succession of space structureand the succession trend of space structure under the influence of this mechanism.This article’s total structure followed the structuralism research technique fromthe whole to the part and analysized in all levels of main problems. Thecomprehension and master of "prototype"(space distribution) is throughout thisarticle.The "prototype" research of space structure included2,3,4chapter, researched space structure, form and the succession process respectively from the macro (outerspace) and micro (internal space) two aspects.In research of sustainable development of traditional strategy in Yuanshui Riverbasin, this article proposed taking history as a mirror, from the rule of the town spacesuccession mechanism, provided relatively rational suggestions of the sustainabledevelopment of traditional towns and emphasized contradictions synchronic anddevelopment of challenging and pointed out that the key to sustainable development isthe organic agglomeration of space which performanced as follows: space structurecluster, functional structure specialization and scale structure accentuation. Finally,this article explained updated protection design research in inner town especiallyimportant historical blocks and its architecture by real design example.
