In the process of the speeding up urbanization, the rapid increasing of city pop-ulation and continued expanding of city size, however, the development speed of cityinfrastructure is hardly keep up the pace with urban expansion, which is particularlyprominent in transport. In large cities, we can often see the traffic jam. In order tosolve these problems, the local governments are striving to develop the public trans-portation. At the same time, for the subway is popular with its advantages of largetraffic volume, ecology and so on, therefore cities with economic strength are con-structing one after another. The change brought by the subway is not only restricted tothe traffic optimization, but also have far-reaching influence on the urban economicstructure. With the rapid development of domestic economic, people’s living standardhas also been greatly improved as well as the higher requirement to the comfort anddiversity of life. Meanwhile, the requirement for land use capability of buildings israised up by the tension of urban land use. Based on these practical requirements, there are many successful cases that we can refer to. Such as Roppongi Hills in Tokyo,Defense Metro in Pairs and Rockefeller Center in the US, the new type of buildingscalled urban complex are appeared in our country and spread with an uncontrollableattitude. Moreover, in the time of the rapid expansion of metro, both of the advantagesare combined up therefore comes up with the metro-building complex. However, comparing to some developed countries, the time we spend on devel-oping metro is quiet short but with an excessively momentum, problems are un-avoidable in many aspects like on planning, positioning, developing, designing and soon.In this article, according to the planning and design problems of metro-buildingcomplex, we analysis from architecture aspect and put forward our own opinion. There are four parts. The first part is Introduction, which mainly clarifies the subjectresearch background, purpose, significance and the current study situation home andabroad. The second part is an illustration which mainly for the development history ofmetro-building complex home and abroad. Then we will analysis our existing prob-lems and refer to the advanced theory abroad. The third part is the main text, whichdivided into chapter III, IV, V and VI. The first three chapters discuss in function, space and environment. The theme of chapter III is Function, according to analyze the area of metro station, social economic structure and the subdivision to the crowd, wewill do the function layout regarding to their needs. Accordingly, we will come upwith the principle and method of function layout so as to provide some reference toarchitecture design. The theme of chapter IV is Space, which will analyze from exte-rior space, interior space and intermediary space. Focusing in typical space type, wewill do the deep analysis and abstract some design methods. The chapter V starts fromlandscape, around the core points like aesthetic appreciation requirement, hommiza-tion and culture destiny, analyze the composition of greening, paving and outdoorsfacilities and go deep into the application of each technique so as to build comfortableexternal environment. The chapter VI will use some examples to give evidence andlessons. The forth part is Conclusion, which will sum up the points for the article andhave a look into the future of metro-building complex.Taking metro-building complex as research object, referring to the success expe-rience and mature theory abroad, this article gives an all-round discussion on how toarrange reasonable function, build comfortable amazing space and environment aswell as put forward our own points so as to form certain guiding significance to ourmetro-building complex and design and construction.
