Forthe Chinese traditional architectural space, what ancient space is acceptable for themodern people or modern life, in other words, Which mental structure could strick aresponsive chord in the hearts of the modern people. The classical Chinese traditionalarchitectural space is the prototype of architectural typology, it could be transformedinto the dimensional and three dimensional meta-language. then according to thedetail function requirement, field environment, modern construction technique, lifecustoms, and so on, to transform “meta-language” to the detailed modern architecturaldesign. This article has six chapters: In the first chapter, the introductory part elaboratesthe research background and meaning, extent and method、new reasonability、newRegionalism、topologic theory、Alfred and Tarski’s language philosophy、F.PURini’sarchitectural typology “meta-language” theory, the last two theories among theabove are the foundation of the article’s view.In the second chapter, it explainsdefinition of original, meta-language, and object design. Moreover, it also illustratesthe design of “meta-language” and object design. The third chapter is the research andanalysis of the prototype of the entrance space of architecture. It derives andresearches the dimensional and three dimensional languages in three aspects: theleading space、the defined space of doors and buildings. The fourth chapter is theresearch and analysis of the prototype of the virtual space in a courtyard. It derivesand researches the dimensional and three dimensional languages in four styles: thevirtual space of a living-courtyard、the virtual space of the palace and the temple、thevirtual space of the gardens and the vision of the virtual space in a courtyard. Thefifth chapter is the research and analysis of the prototype of the in-between space. Itderives and researches the two dimensional and three dimensional languages in threeaspects: grey space、the space of the eaves corridor、the bottom space. The sixthchapter is the case analysis of “object design”, it makes two samples: China collegemuseum and Hunan university software college, then explains the deduction processfrom original typography to meta-language. By hundreds of ancient classic architectural space research and analysis, thewriter combines Pillinyi’s architectural typology “meta-language” theory with Rossi’snew reasonability typology theory, finally deriving many two dimensional and threedimensional language sheets. The writer thinks the exploration will offer a new wayto democratic architectural design.
