As an important part of automobile transmission, a transmission of the vehicledirectly influences the vehicle driving and economy, reliability and flexibility ofcontrol, stability and efficiency of transmission. Although the traditional manualtransmission has many shortcomings such as large volumn, shifting with big inpactand difficult manipulation, it is still widely used in modern cars with hightransmission efficiency, mature production and manufacturing processes and low cost. However, due to many structural parameters affecting the transmission performance,it is worth exploring that how to use software to analyze the result of various factorson the impact of the design, and to choose what parameters to optimize the structureand performance targets. By use of specialized software, this thesis explores manualtransmission modeling and design, and makes structural simulation analysis andoptimization. This method provides guidance for future new development andapplication of the transmission with great engineering practical value.Taking EQ3092Truck manual transmission as a research object, the design and finiteelement simulation to the manual transmission is made in this thesis. The main research work of this thesis is as follows:(1) through the analysis of the transmission structure, the design scheme isdetermined according to the design requirements and operating conditions of theselected reference model.(2) Calculation of manual transmission design is made by use of Catia’sparametrized modules to determine each components’ structure and size of thetransmission.3D modeling of each component of the transmission is completedthrough combining utilization the surface design module and parts design module inthe Catia.(3) Virtual assembly of the transmission is made by using Catia virtual assemblymodules to test the previous design. Secondly, the key parts of the transmission ischecked.(4) the static and modal analysis to the transmission middle shaft is made by useof Ansys software. The static analysis results in line with the theoretical analysisresult, and the static strength of the shaft meets the requirements. By the modalanalysis, the frequency of the shaft is far from the natural frequency, which provesthat the shaft can work safely and reliablely.
