Starting/generator double functions system has become the tide of electric devicesin advanced aircraft. Brushless Electro-magnetic Synchronous Machine (BESM) hasbeen widely used in modern aircraft. If BESM can succeed in starting the engine of theaircraft, it will be a competitive scheme as starting/generator system because the wideapplication as generator in aircrafts will definitely decrease the risk and costs ofresearch and development.Some research has been carried out on new starting scheme after it was presentedand some important useful results have been given. But research on course of starting ofBESM is still a vacancy.In this thesis, aiming at the difficulty of modeling of the electromagnetic typebrushless AC synchronous generator communicating, a kind of method was put forwardunder MATLAB environments. Using the testing component models and controlledpower source models, the mathematics models and the circuit’s topololegies models ofthe machines are constructed. It can carry out the mixture simulations of“circuit-electrical machine-control” systems of high-efficiency and high quality toimitate really. These modeling methods solved availably the problems of complicatedelectrical systems control with power electronic devices. And it can be expand tovarious kinds of mechanical-electrical mixture systems modeling and simulation duringstarting.The MATLAB starting models of BESM are presented in this thesis. Thesimulation of starting processes of single-phase AC exciting and three-phase ACexciting are carried out. The simulation results are compared with the analysis ones. It isshowed that the single-phase AC exciting has better characteristics than three-phase ACexciting. The simulation models of starting/generator of electromagnetic type brushlessAC synchronous generator are established and the transition processes ofstarting/generator conversion are researched. The simulation interfaces ofstarting/generator double functions system of electromagnetic type brushless ACsynchronous generator are programmed using of C++Builder. The models of starting,generator, and starting/generator double functions conversion are encapsulated.A new kind of exciting scheme of brushless AC synchronous generator doublefunctions system was put forward. The principle of the method was introduced and thecalculation formula of induction electric power in armature windings of exciter was set.By comparing the single-phase AC exciting with DC exciting, the simulation results and experiments results showed that the single-phase AC exciting scheme has the superioradvantages from static state to rated operation. Almost all of the results are the same bytheoretic, simulation, and experiments. It has been proved that the scheme provided bythe author is correct and effective.
