Vehicle ride performance is one of the most important factors, which influence ride comfort. Therefore the investigation to improve vehicle ride performance is attached more and more attention. The paper introduce the multi-body system dynamics theory, approach the analysis mechanism of ADAMS. Do some research on the reason of failure when doing the simulation, and list several solutions.In this paper, in order to evaluated the ride comfort performance of one electric bus, the whole vehicle dynamics model is established in ADAMS/CAR,including the front suspension system, rear suspension systems, steering systems, tires system and body, based on multi-body dynamics theory. According to the ADAMS road surface document request, we establish the correlation simulation road surface. The model is simulated and analyzed under random inputs, we get the acceleration curves and PSD curves of Three-axials. Then the model is used to do the simulation under pulse inputs, to get the acceleration curves of vertical direction. And then checks whether this vehicle’s ride comfort is ideal or not.The paper optimizes the leaf spring by genetic algorithm with the MATLAB software. And then the author checks up the result of optimization by doing the vehicle ride comfort simulation, and compares it with the simulation result above. The result indicates that the optimization can improve the ride comfort to some extent, especially the pulse inputs.The study can be used in work. The whole research work concentrates on the exploration and application of virtual design and analysis. Through it the the automotive company have basically achieved the goal-analyzing several essential performances of the vehicle on a computer. This is of great significance to the reduction of real prototyping manufacture and real laboratory test. So it can reduce thecost of production and occupy the superority of the market.
