In the process of offshore oil and gas development projects, through the submarinepipeline transport offshore oil and gas resources from offshore platforms to land is the mosteconomic effective method. And these pipelines in use process will develop deformation、breakage and leak,so pipeline protection has become increasingly important.In manyprotection methods, the dug trench buried pipe method is simple and convenient. submarineplough trench cutter is a kind of special underwater machinery used as trenching and layingfor pipeline in the benthal. Its main function is to complete the trenching and layingoperations of submarine pipeline and protect its security. This subject originated from theproject “The Research on Trenching Technology and Equipment for Hard Clay” of OffshoreOil Engineering Corp.Firstly,the paper based and refer to the research achievements of previous researchist.Keep on improving the main structure of the submarine plough trench cutter. The mainstructure including frame, steering device, walking apparatus, plough body frame, ploughsbody, floating box and sling. Put forward the role of each structure, principle and designdetails.Secondly, the kinematics analysis and kinematics simulation of the hole structure wascompleted by using the dynamic analysis software ADAMS.Then calculate the dragging forceand and analyzes the factors which influence the size.Thirdly, on account of in the course of hoist the pipe and enter into the soil and departfrom the soil,the pipeline has very large deflection and complicated environmental and serviceload,it makes the pipeline have large bending deformation and stress intensity,so the pipelineis extremely easy to be destroyed seriously. Therefore,calculation and analysis the possibledeformation and the strength. Make the dynamic simulation by useing the software ABAQUSin the course of hoist the pipe,normal operation, enter into the soil and depart from thesoil,view the variation of stresses during those courses. Then obtain the stress of the pipeline.Finally, do the land experiment, after summarize and analysis the preceding experiment,puts forward the new method of the experiment, and successful completion of the landexperiment. And through the experiment results of analysis, the experiment data and thesimulation data matching, test the experimental prototype the performance of the test mode,and put forward the improvement plan for the next development engineering prototype.
