This article, which takes the second phase of Bengbu new port project as theresearch object, focuses on the importance and the necessary means of managing theproject schedule, and then explains how to develop the project progress managementplan, how to manage the implementation and control of the project progressmanagement plan (furthermore proposes the necessary control procedures andmeasures), and how to ensure the implementation of the project progress plan.Port construction also belongs to the category of civil engineering construction,providing a very good application foundation of theories and tools of projectmanagement, and the second phase of Bengbu new port project is no exception,Through the practice of this project, the author not only deepened the understandingof the theory of project management, and strengthened the understanding of the portconstruction project, furthermore greatly improved the knowledge of overall project,sub-projects as well as technical and technological characteristics of various aspectsof project. This study deeply illuminates the works of such organizations andarrangements, especially how to plan and control the main project, the criticalprocesses, the key line and ancillary matter.This paper is divided into five chapters, respectively is: the first chapter:introduction,which explains why choose this project as a research object anddescribes the ideas and methods of research projects, thesis structural arrangementsand so on. The second chapter: general situation of the second phase of Bengbu newport project, introduces the general situation, organizational structure and jobresponsibilities of the project implementation process. The third chapter: thedevelopment of the project progress management of the second phase of Bengbu newport project, mainly describes the basic theory of project process management using in this paper, and how to analyze to determine the basic parameters of the project forproviding data support and making Gantt chart. The fourth chapter: theimplementation and control of the progress management plan, proposed theimplementation requirements, control objectives and content of the control processesand measures of project process management. The fifth chapter: the measures of howto ensure the implementation of the plan, including security, quality assurance,security, safety control and other civil construction. The last part is the conclusion.In this paper, with the main research tools of work breakdown structure charts,network plan graphs Gantt charts and project control methods before, during and afterthe event, it studied deeply and carefully the project progress management. It alsocombined the stages of investigation, preparation, implementation, and acceptance,applied the theoretical knowledge to plan, prepare, control and implement the wholeproject.Any work is not perfect, the research in this paper is no exception, although thisstudy has achieved some results, but due to various factors of time, resources,objective reasons exist, this paper also has some deficiencies in the research project,in future work to avoid.This study is mainly about the second phase of Bengbu new port project.However, methods and techniques used in the research process can also be used inother similar projects. If it is able to inspire or provide any help to other projects, thisresearch would be more meaningful.
