With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the living and consumptionstandards are growing. The BBA (BMW Brilliance Automobile company), themultinational corporation, which produces limo is facing unprecedented opportunitiesand challenges. In order to meet with the market requirement, BBA is applying Leanproduction mindset and IE method to solve the status that the demand is exceeding thesupply.。The main topic is about the framing line balance in F18body shop of BBA. Itintroduces the theory of lean production and the background of lean productiondevelopment and its core value of eliminating waste in production. It introduces thecurrent status of framing line in body shop. Meanwhile it also introduces the status ofline balance study and the method of line balance study. Implementing process analysis,work analysis, motion analysis, line balance,5W1H and ECRS and so on of IE basictheory and the lean production mindset of eliminating waste, analyze the problemdeeply on site. study the cycle time and working load before improvement and analyzethe capacity and line balance ratio about framing line in Body Shop. Through the5W1Hmethod and ECRS skill to find the waste in real production and take action accordinglyto eliminate the waste in production line. Improve process flow, reduce the unnecessarywaste during welding process of robot, eliminate bottle neck, balance the working loadof robot, optimize the C/T, increase the capacity and efficiency. By the improvementactivities we got great achievement, the C/T of production line is from155S to129S,the line balance is from92.0%to97.8%, the working load of key robot is from45%toabout55%, the capacity of the production line is from20units/hour to26units/hour.All questions raised, problems and suggestions in this thesis fully reflect thepractical and realistic implementation in the manufacturing industry. This is done by indepth, thorough profiling of the IE tools and analysis, therefore showing the importanceof using these IE tools to optimize the production line. Hence demonstrating theextremely important role IE has to play in the manufacturing industry.
