Hull block coordinate measurement plays an important role in quality control of hull construction, which needs information of management point as guidance. Developing a pre-treatment system has important significant for coordinate measurement. Functions of3D display, creating management point and generating guidance report for hull block are realized in this system.Through adopting HOOPS/ACIS component technology,3D display platform which is independent of modeling software is putted up.3D display and interactive operation for hull block model is realized on this platform. Combined with ray casting principle, geometric information on hull block model, acquired through data conversion between HOOPS and ACIS by HA Bridge, is snapped and highlighted. User-oriented annotation card is designed to implement visualization of information. According to graphical data structure of HOOPS and ACIS, five methods of annotation are generated to generate management points. Finally, guidance report, including serial number and3d coordinate information, is created by utilizing Excel object model from ActiveX. Moreover, function of screen capture which provides ways to paste location information of management points on hull block is designed to assist report generation.Pre-treatment system for hull block coordinate measurement has been completed, and has implemented the desired functions. Results of running indicate that the overall scheme is reasonable and technical route is correct. Under further perfection, the system could be used in practical work.
