The aim of this thesis is based on a propulsion system of the20V4000M93L marine high-speed diesel engine, marine reversing gearbox and fixed pitch propeller produced by a Germany company MTU. Focusing on the foundation of a deep analysis of traditional ship propulsion system’s structure, functions and marine high-speed diesel engine’s features and combining the classification society’s requirements, focusing on automatic engine room’s requirements, I study and design the propulsion control system of the marine high-speed diesel engine, choose and write programs for the controller. Eventually, based on the human machine interface of configuration software, I conduct the integrated analog for the propulsion control system, debug and test the functions of the system.As the marine high-speed diesel engine have advantages of quick-start, low weight power ratio and easy operation and maintenance, they are the main type of engine for government public service vessel, medium to large naval ships and small to medium civil ships. Meanwhile, the propulsion control system is an important part of the automatic engine which can improve the ship’s drivability, safety and the reliability, economical efficiency of the main engine, which is important for automation of ship building and safe operation. Hence, it is necessary and advanced to study the marine high-speed diesel engine propulsion control system.During the design of the marine high-speed diesel engine propulsion control system, I use the S7-300programmable logic controller produced by Siemens, sufficiently make use of S7-300programmable logic controller’s advantages and features and construct the system into distributed structure. I write programs by STEP7integrated development environment’s ladder diagram language, achieve fundamental control functions of the propulsion control system. During the propulsion control system’s integrated analog, I utilize the flexible and developed WinCC Flexible software to debug and test the propulsion control system.This paper is organized into six parts:Part Ⅰ is the general description of the ship propulsion control system; Part Ⅱ is the analysis of the features of the marine high-speed diesel engine and the study of the propulsion system; Part Ⅲ is the design of marine high-speed diesel engine propulsion system’s overall structure and functions. Part Ⅳ demonstrates the realization of the marine high-speed diesel engine propulsion system, including the choice of hardware and programming; Part Ⅴ indicates the integrated analog of the system. PartⅥ illustrates the conclusion and future perspective.
